How do I get a library card?

Your library card is your key to the resources and services of the Burnaby Public Library. In addition to borrowing library materials, your card will let you reserve a computer, download digital media, search dozens of electronic databases, and more.

You can apply for a library card in person at any branch of the Burnaby Public Library. Library cards are free to:

  • all people who live or own property in the City of Burnaby
  • all people who live within the InterLINK area
  • all people eligible for a BC OneCard

Others may obtain a library card for a fee. You will need photo identification and proof of address. For more information on library cards and borrowing materials at the Burnaby Public Library, including a list of acceptable ID and proof of address, see our borrowing pages.

Children under the age of 16 must have their application forms signed by a parent or legal guardian.
