How do I find books in other languages?

Burnaby Public Library has materials in a number of languages other than English. See below for the languages covered at each branch. These books are not always listed in our library catalogue. Call or visit a branch for more information.

Chinese

Adult and children's materials, both catalogued and uncatalogued, are available at all four branches.

French

Catalogued materials for adults are available at McGill and at Tommy Douglas. A small collection of materials (about 60 titles) for teens is available at McGill. Materials for children are available at all four branches.

Italian

Uncatalogued materials for adults are available at McGill.

Japanese

Uncatalogued materials for adults are available at Tommy Douglas.

Korean

Catalogued and uncatalogued materials for adults are available at Cameron and at Bob Prittie Metrotown. Materials for children are available at all four branches.

Panjabi

A small collection of catalogued materials (about 150 titles) for adults is available at Tommy Douglas.

Persian

Catalogued materials are available at Cameron, at McGill and at Tommy Douglas.

Russian

A small collection of uncatalogued materials (fewer than 50 titles) is available at Bob Prittie Metrotown.

Spanish

Catalogued and uncatalogued materials for adults are available at Bob Prittie Metrotown and at Tommy Douglas. A small collection of catalogued materials (fewer than 50 titles) for teens is available at McGill. Materials for children are available at all four branches.
