The Vancouver Writers Fest in partnership with Vancouver Public Library presents various author events at the Central branch.
The Cherie Smith JCC Jewish Book Festival is one of Vancouver's leading cultural and literary events, attracting a large and varied audience of over 5,000 people of all ages. This highly popular community-wide event brings together prominent and emerging Jewish writers and non-Jewish writers with Jewish interest subject matter in literature, the arts, philosophy, theology, history and current events to speak during this week-long literary experience.
Presented by the Arts Council of New Westminster. The Arts Council is passionate about bringing people together to celebrate and share the arts in New Westminster. LitFest is a celebration, reaching out to the community to explore the literary arts, and to encourage writers and readers.
"Where writers and readers meet." The North Shore Writers Festival is an annual celebration of Canadian authors brought to you by your North Shore public libraries – North Vancouver City, North Vancouver District and West Vancouver Memorial – as well as by the North Shore News. The festival is free and no registration is required.
The Surrey International Writers' Conference, held every October in British Columbia, is the most comprehensive conference of its kind in Canada. SiWC offers writers in all genres “ from beginners to experts “ the opportunity both to hone their craft and to expose their work to the international literary marketplace.
The Vancouver Book Fair, organized by the Alcuin Society, is the only antiquarian, collectible and rare book fair in Western Canada, and will feature many of Western Canada's top booksellers. A wide selection of antiquarian, collectible and rare books, ephemera, maps, prints, manuscripts and works on paper will be on offer at the fair.
The annual Vancouver Writers Fest is a celebration of story, told by authors, poets, spoken word performers, and graphic novelists. For six days in October, this celebration takes place in the cultural oasis of Granville Island, and continues throughout the year with the Incite reading series at the VPL, special events with leading writers and the Spreading the Word education programs at Lower Mainland schools and in small BC communities.

Word on the Street in Vancouver is Western Canada's largest celebration of literacy and reading. Held during the last week of September at various venues throughout the city, our festival promotes books and authors with free exhibits, performances, and hands-on activities for a wide range of ages and interests.

The Kootenay Literary Society's mission is to augment Nelson and area writers' and readers' access to Canadian authors and publishers, and to showcase area writers to local audiences. To fulfill this mission KLS organizes a summer literary festival in Nelson, B.C.

Based in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, on the shores of beautiful Shuswap Lake, the Shuswap Association of Writers (SAOW) was founded in 2004 as a vehicle for organizing the Word on the Lake (formerly the Shuswap Lake International Writers Festival).
