About the lab
Bibliotech, Burnaby Public Library's creative technology lab, is located at the Tommy Douglas Library and includes 14 workstations for public use. These include 12 PCs running Windows 7, and two iMacs, running OS X Lion. The workstations have photo and video editing software installed. There is also a flatbed scanner available. There is no charge for use of the lab, except for printing.
The lab is designed to support the use of creative technology by Burnaby residents. In addition to the software and equipment available in the lab itself, the library has cameras, camcorders and other equipment available to lend:
- Six Canon PowerShot ELPH 300HS digital cameras
- Four Samsung HMX-F80 HD camcorders
- Two Dynex 60-inch Universal tripods
- Ten Lexar 16GB USB flash drives

Lending policies
The following equipment is available for short term loan and may be used inside or outside the library.

Borrowers must hold a valid Burnaby Public Library card, and agree to the library's equipment lending agreement.
Lab attendant hours
The lab attendants are available to assist patrons:
- Mondays, 5pm to 9pm
- Tuesdays, 11:30am to 4:30pm
- Wednesdays, 4pm to 9pm
- Thursdays, 12pm to 9
- Friday, 4pm to 9pm
- Saturdays, 12pm to 5pm
- Sundays, 12pm to 5pm
